The students will be able to take home all the simple machines they make from camp Monday to Thursday. At the end of the week on Friday, the students will make an example of each simple machine using Legosâ.
Geology & Earth Science
Open to students entering grades 2-5.
Have you ever wondered how rocks were formed? Or what type of rock you have found? Or how to be a geologist? If so, come join us for a discovery of how geologists classify rocks and minerals, properties of rocks and minerals, the three groups of rocks, the rock cycle, weathering and erosion, soil types, microscope investigations of soil and more!
Each day, students will practice being geologists and have hands-on experiences "digging in" to these topics and more. We are confident that each student will see the wonder of God’s creation while exploring what He has made. Two or more Bible verses are the focus each day to support the topics.
Introduction to Raspberry Pi
Open to students entering grades 7-9.
During this camp, students will learn the basics of working with a Raspberry Pi. They will also learn about Linux and do some basic programming using Python. Students will have the opportunity to use various models of the Raspberry Pi and learn the basics of soldering. The goal of this camp is to prepare students enough that they will be able to start doing projects with a Raspberry Pi or similar development boards on their own.
Exploring Raspberry Pi
Open to students entering grades 8-12.
This camp is open to students who have attended the introductory camp or have prior experience with Raspberry Pi, programing, Linux, and/or working with electronics.
Students will explore various uses and projects for the Raspberry Pi. These include using the device to control other electronics, controlling a Raspberry Pi remotely from another device, making simple games, and making a laser tripwire. The goal of this class is to prepare students for completion of more advanced projects with a Raspberry Pi or similar developmental board on their own.
STEM Camp from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
