Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/teacher conferences have traditionally been held in early November, a week after first-quarter report cards have been issued. However, both parents and teachers have expressed concern that holding conferences that late does not give time for necessary feedback and intervention before grades are issued. This year, conferences will be held after interim reports, and before the end of the first quarter. Please note that this change is for the junior high/senior high campus only. The elementary grades benefit from having more time to assess student performance and will continue with the November conference dates.

Conferences will be held on Thursday, September 27, from 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Teachers will not be available from 4:00 p.m.– 5:00  p.m. for a dinner break. The second day of conferences will follow on Friday, September 28, from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Teachers will not be available on Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for lunch.

There is no need to make an appointment to see your student’s teachers.  All of the teachers will be seated at tables in the chapel, and you will simply circulate to each teacher at your discretion. We ask that you limit each conference to 10 – 15 minutes in order that teachers can meet with as many of you as possible.

Our part-time teachers will be available for one of the two conference days. Mr. Peters. Mrs. Nimmo, Mr. Hensley, Mr. Burkett and Mrs. Gant will be available on Thursday. Mrs. Heid and Mrs. Perry will be available on Friday. If there is a teacher whose availability does not agree with yours as a parent, please feel free to reach out to that teacher specifically for another time to connect.
