Brand new Novel Writing Club

Brian Wells, author of 'The League and the Lantern' visited on 10/5/17

All you writers out there will be excited to hear that CCS is beginning an all-new Novel Writing Club! This is an opportunity for anyone interested in writing a story to come to the meetings and write! Mrs. Rice, advisor of the club, encourages anyone from seventh through twelfth grade to join at any time.

“The point of the club is not to be perfect,” said Mrs. Rice, “but to accomplish writing a 50,000-word novel.”

If you’re up for the challenge, why not join? Don’t be discouraged just because you feel like you’re not as good of a writer as someone else. You can always strengthen your skills.

The Novel Club has already had an author visit, and Mrs. Rice is planning to bring in more authors so students can have an opportunity to speak to them. Who knows, maybe one of your favorite authors could show up!

The Novel Club will be meeting every other Wednesday in the cafeteria from 3 to 4 p.m. after school. If you’re interested in joining the club, Mrs. Rice is always ready to add another name to the list.
